# about us

WE Team is a registered not-for-profit organization based in Australia, established in 2011. As of April 2017, we have 30 active members, and have been successfully running since our establishment. Our program operates on a '$10/month' model, providing support to destitute children studying in government schools in remote and regional villages in Nepal, whose families are financially unable to support them. Children are selected on the basis of their family circumstances and merit, through WE Team members' family or friends. Supports are sent through a nominated country member of WE Team to avoid any indirect administrative costs. Currently, WE Team is supporting 13 kids from various districts like Parbat, Kaski, Tanhaun, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Khotang, ranging from class 2 to 12. Funds are provided for various items such as stationery, uniforms, school fees, snacks (khaja), and a yearly amount of Rs. 3000 ($35-$40 approximately) during their special festival. WE Team does not provide cash support other than the aforementioned items to the kids' families. The nominated member, their family, or friends directly handle cash for purchasing items and paying school fees to ensure that the kids' families cannot misuse the money.
